Role Purpose:The purpose of the role is to provide the various leads within the Consumer Business Unit (CBU) Prepaid Commercial environment with financial and analytical support that ensures the key business objectives are achieved. The support provided by the Specialist: Finance Business Partner CBU is meant to ensure efficiency in operational and tactical decision-making, which is underpinned by robust financial reviews using analytics, business and commercial intelligence, and financial modelling. The role will mainly focus on supporting CBU FBP internally, Commercial, Pricing and FinOps business functions.
Your responsibilities will include:- Support the CBU teams with financial decision analysis and provide adequate business challenges in the launch of propositions.
- Manipulation of raw data for building financial models, analysing customer trends/behaviour
- Ability to extract data using SQL/Qliksense/ suitable analytics and convert it into actionable insights for business decision-making
- Ability to understand key business drivers and translate sensitivities to the stakeholders
Communication
- Written and orally presented material must be of high quality with clear insights and actions for executive management
- Able to provide timely and accurate feedback through internal and external stakeholders
Typical Outputs
1. Business case evaluation
- Support the business to make the best financial decisions by providing financial guidance and challenge to CBU team members through a comprehensive financial evaluation of business proposals for new product launches, pricing changes or targeted campaigns.
2. Post-investment reviews
- Complete post-investment appraisals to measure the performance compared to business case objectives on a timely basis and communicate lessons learnt through to business.
3. Deep and Insightful Product analytics
- Support CBU Commercial team on monthly KPI performance, analysis by product categories
- Provide financial advice on campaigns/new propositions to CBU team to support the achievement of the financial targets
4. Channel and customer investment analytics
- Provide accurate and up-to-date financial performance to achieve targeted A&R efficiency and intensity
- Prepare channel/regional financial analysis and reporting
The ideal candidate for this role will have:- 3yr Degree (Quants/ Statistics/Actuarial Science, Business Science, Finance or equivalent)
- Advanced modelling skills in Excel is a MUST
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills is a MUST
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to identify and assess key risks and sensitivities
- Ability to balance and prioritise competing demands
- Self – Starter / Action orientated
- An understanding of competitive environment
- Financial performance reporting
