Job Summary

To support the credit risk process through carrying out comprehensive and quality credit risk functions within the credit lifecycle to create shared growth within the boundaries of internal policies and external regulations for Growth Business clients.

Job Description

Collections Strategy management:

  1. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the collections strategy life cycle.
  2. Clear understanding of collections and impairments, and the drivers thereof.
  3. Clear understanding of the documented strategies and policies within the (Transactional and Deposits) portfolio.
  4. Conduct quality credit risk assessments and reviews for all BAU processes and strategy.
  5. Proactively manage credit risks associated with clients.
  6. Design and develop data driven collections strategies by identifying gaps, providing solutions, and aligning to overall portfolio strategy.
  7. Embed enhancements to collections strategies through rigorous research and interrogation of data.

Data and Systems Management:

  1. Drive ownership of BAU, Ad-Hoc, and automated processes.
  2. Produce and analyze relevant management information and insights within stipulated SLA.
  3. Perform quality data analysis and data processing techniques (i.e., sourcing, cleaning, analyzing, validation and consolidating large data sets utilizing strong SAS skills and identifying anomalies/trends).

Governance:

  1. Adhere to the bank's credit risk policies and all relevant legislation.
  2. Support end-to-end audit and governance processes.
  3. Keep abreast with regulatory changes as it relates to collections.
  4. Align to BU and industry best practices.
  5. Understand, investigate, and provide thorough feedback on exceptions.
  6. Customer and stakeholder management.
  7. Presentation of analytical results and proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Soft skills

  1. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  2. Conduct oneself professionally.
  3. Manage time and workload.

Qualifications and Experience:

•Preferred Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in BMI, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Commerce.
•Experience in financial services is advantageous, particularly in collections strategy.
•SAS skills and experience with data analysis and processing techniques will be advantageous.
•Understanding of collections, impairments, and credit risk management.

Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required).
