Job summary

Jobtailor in Randburg, South Africa, is seeking an experienced COBOL Programmer for production support on mainframe COBOL applications. You will investigate issues, implement fixes, and participate in root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

The role requires strong IMS/DB2 skills and a hands-on approach to ensuring system availability. You will collaborate with QA, analysts, and other developers to deliver robust solutions, while handling both batch and real-time processing in a 24/7 standby

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience as a COBOL Programmer in a mainframe environment.
• At least 5 years' experience with JCL.
• Intermediate to Expert level experience in IMS and DB2 databases.
• Experience with TSO/ISPF, ISPW, and Code Pipeline.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting production environments.
• Familiarity with batch and real-time processing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.
