Job description

JOB FUNCTION

Act as the first point of contact for new potential clients seeking information on DP World SSA's products and services. Responds to tenders and develops sales in new sales territories. Meet targets by securing new business clients.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics, informing strategic decision-making.

New Business Acquisition:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the logistics industry, including potential clients, markets, and service offerings.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, challenges, and opportunities, and develop tailored solutions to address their requirements.
  • Maintaining demurrage schedules with frequent follow ups with suppliers on acceptance. On acceptance, engagement with finance to raise invoice accordingly.

Partnership Development:

  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships and alliances with complementary businesses, service providers, and industry associations to enhance Green Door Group's service offerings and market reach.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements, contracts, and terms to ensure mutual benefit and alignment with business objectives.

Sales Strategy Execution:

  • Develop and implement targeted sales strategies and tactics to drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer acquisition.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, analyse sales data, and identify areas for improvement or optimization to maximise sales effectiveness and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including operations, marketing, finance, and legal, to align business development initiatives with organisational priorities and requirements.
  • Provide insights, feedback, and support to cross-functional teams to optimize processes, address challenges, and capitalise on opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • A diploma or certificate in sales, logistics, or supply chain would be beneficial if no degree.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management—preferably within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain sector.
  • Experience handling end-to-end sales cycles, including prospecting, proposal creation, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Prior exposure to client onboarding, partner collaboration, and market research activities.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations, supplier coordination, and tasks such as demurrage schedule follow-ups and invoice initiation is a strong plus.
