Our client is looking for a Specialist Healthcare Advisor who is fluent in English and Afrikaans (read, write, understand).
This is a nationwide position.
Your : Formal Education :
- Matric
- RE5
- Bachelor of Commerce or related degree (advantageous)
- Annual CPD points up to date
- CMS accreditation
Experience :
- Minimum 5 years relevant advice/consultation experience in the health insurance industry for both individual and group business
- Experience dealing with Financial Service advisors and product providers
- Proven track record of team management
Knowledge :
- Product Knowledge: Medical Aid, Medical Insurance, and Gap Cover products
- Legislative knowledge – Medical Schemes Act
- Systems knowledge – Quotation application of product providers
- Technical Knowledge – Commercial and Legal (Compliance)
- Technological: MS Office, Zoom, and other electronic engagement platforms
Responsibilities :
Sales :
- Provide inputs for annual sales targets
- Grow and maintain relationships to promote leads from advisors
- Participate in monthly meetings with the Executive to assess progress
- Assist the Executive with contingency planning for shortfalls
- Identify opportunities and discuss with the Executive
- Present industry and client-specific solutions on health insurance, primary health care, medical schemes, and EAPs
Clients :
- Consult with prospective clients to assess needs and recommend suitable healthcare products
- Review existing clients annually to ensure their needs are still met
- Recommend and implement policy changes as required
- Ensure quotations and advice are accurate and comprehensive
- Retain and build relationships with clients and financial advisors
- Participate in client education activities and campaigns
People :
- Manage the support team's workflow and performance expectations
- Communicate capacity constraints and provide guidance on escalated requests
- Identify training needs and assist with personnel development
- Supervise junior health advisors
Systems and Processes :
- Apply internal and external systems for logging interactions and ensuring data quality
- Understand and utilize product provider documents for quotations
- Handle escalated requests and stay updated on product changes
- Maintain compliance with industry developments and legislative requirements
- Manage administrative processes and client onboarding
