About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Needs Education Teacher to join their inclusive school in Stellenbosch . You will play a vital role in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, helping them reach their full potential. This position requires a deep understanding of various learning disabilities and effective intervention strategies, alongside the ability to collaborate closely with parents, therapists, and other educators. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
• Provide tailored instruction and support to students, adapting curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual needs.
• Assess students' progress regularly, documenting achievements and areas for development.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and a multidisciplinary team (e.g., therapists, psychologists) to create a cohesive support system.
• Utilize assistive technology and specialized resources to enhance learning for students.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and progress reports.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Special Needs Education (e.g., B.Ed. (Sp. Ed.), diploma in Special Education).
• Registered with the relevant professional body (e.g., SACE).
• Proven experience (3+ years) teaching students with diverse learning needs.
• In-depth knowledge of various special educational needs and intervention strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with developing and implementing IEPs and IEP meetings.
• Ability to work effectively in both in-person and remote support capacities.
