Job summary

Placements24 seeks a compassionate Special Needs Education Support Assistant to work with students with diverse learning needs in Upington. You will collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement IEPs, assist with daily tasks, and help create an inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements include a relevant qualification in Special Needs Education and prior SEN experience, along with patience and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or certification in Special Needs Education or related field.
• Strong patience and empathy when supporting students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an educational team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special educational needs.
• Assist with daily tasks, personal care, and mobility as required.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under guidance of teachers.
• Create a safe, stimulating, inclusive learning environment.
• Support classroom behavior management and positive social interactions.
• Communicate progress and needs with teachers and parents.
