Primary purpose of the job
- Ensure all employees understand and apply proper patient care as per GPP (Good Pharmacy Practice) regulations.
- Provide ongoing training to employees on pharmacy acts, pharmacist code of conduct, and GPP.
- Engage with pharmacist assistants through clinical enquiries, training, and coaching.
- Ensure compliance with the POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) regulations.
- Allocate daily work to employees (Mailbox, Rejections, Actions Diaries, Tracking queries, etc.).
- Analyze daily BIS reporting.
- Manage employee’s daily output to ensure SLA adherence.
- Drive MML and ensure company benchmark standards are met by each individual.
- Handle Out of Stock issues in collaboration with the Operations Manager and/or Procurement Manager.
- Conduct weekly and monthly horizontal reports.
- Manage leave and output compliance with ESS.
- Plan and report on daily estimated overtime and overtime budgets.
- Report system issues for resolution (IT, HR, Finance).
- Participate in recruitment and interviews for new employees, follow up on vacancies with the recruitment manager.
- Conduct IR conversations and training.
- Coach high potential staff and plan for succession.
- Conduct KPA ratings and employee discussions.
- Manage performance processes for underperforming employees.
- Implement rewards and recognition programs for top performers.
- Prioritize urgent parcels and attend to reports like St 71/72, OUT of WIP daily.
- Monitor staff’s monthly telephone accounts.
- Review SOPs and conduct training.
- Assist with stock management, including short-dated stock, out-of-stocks, and stock returns.
- Oversee new business onboarding.
- Manage pharmacist small groups and training sessions.
- Update Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Liaise with Marketing on new business initiatives and retention.
- Maintain stakeholder relations.
- Manage the Special Meds call center to ensure compliance, including scheduling employees for Saturday shifts.
- Oversee management of high-value items (pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical).
- Coordinate stock ordering for patient-specific items, including Section 21 products.
- Aim to reduce errors and improve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience
Matric, B. Pharm Degree, with a minimum of 2 years as a pharmacist (including internship and community service), and 2-5 years management experience. SAPC registration is required.
Training Required
Training on company systems (e.g., Medipost App, online authorization system, ESS, etc.).
