Special Educational Needs Teacher - East London

Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities teacher? Do you have an interest in working with students with SEND? A specialist Special Needs school based in East London is looking for a qualified teacher to start in September 2024.

The school is a small secondary institution catering to students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They also accept students with Complex Learning Needs. The school is well-resourced, with excellent support and CPD opportunities for staff.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas teaching certificate recognized by NARIC
  • Experience working with students with SEND in mainstream or SEND settings
  • Patience and understanding
  • Flexibility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Existing DBS check on the update service
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method, or other augmentative communication approaches (advantageous but not essential)
Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
  • Conduct assessments for class students
  • Ensure safeguarding of pupils
  • Collaborate with staff for optimal student outcomes
  • Promote independence, well-being, and welfare of students

Plus, recommend a friend seeking a teaching or support role and receive £125 for each registered teacher or TA who works for 10 days.
