Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
- Compile and maintain the integrity of a Configuration Management Data Base in alignment with BCX's standards and using the BCX prescribed systems.
- Utilise the BCX Remedy system for request, incident, and problem handling, rectifying issues, and implementing preventative actions as needed.
- Continuously monitor performance, analyze trends, tune databases for optimal performance, and build a known error database (KEDB) for problem handling (R&D).
- Build and maintain support structures for consultation purposes.
- Stay updated with the latest release versions, ensure approval through user acceptance testing (UAT) and quality assurance (QA), design and execute release plans, maintain the Definitive Software Library (DSL), and manage license issues.
- Monitor space utilization, execute trend analysis, alerts, and escalations; monitor memory and CPU usage.
- Devise monitoring methodologies, utilize appropriate tools, and report on system availability or uptime.
- Identify, propose, and implement effective backup strategies to ensure service continuity and monitor these strategies regularly.
- Validate a disaster recovery (DR) plan for databases under management, considering replication, snapshots, or remote copies as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications
- NQF 6: 3-year Degree/Diploma/National Diploma in IT or Computer Science
- OR NQF 4: Grade 12
Experience
5 to 7 years' experience in administering Apps DBA Oracle databases, including Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Weblogic, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7+.
