Job summary

A leading spares distribution company in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an individual to manage spares reception, inspection, packing, and despatching. The ideal candidate must have Grade 12, strong communication skills, and experience with SAP/WMS. Responsibilities include stock management and assisting with queries. A forklift license is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Grade 12 with proven experience in a spares or similar environment.
  • Valid forklift, Reach Truck & or Order Picker drivers licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, inspects and packs spares in correct bin locations.
  • Picks spares as per picking list for branches and sales.
  • Conducts stock counts as per Company procedures.
  • Attends to branch and supplier queries.

Job description

This position ensures that all spares are received in good condition and binned in the correct bin locations and that spares are picked, packed and dispatched as per requirements and picking lists. Housekeeping and bin accuracy is maintained. Queries from branches and suppliers related to spares are attended to. Regular stock counts conducted.

DUTIES:

  • Receives, inspects and packs spares in correct bin locations
  • Quantity and condition of spares is checked at the point of receiving
  • Queries to suppliers raised and timeously closed off
  • Picks spares as per picking list supplied for branches, sales, AP orders.
  • Quantity and condition of spares picked is accurately checked.
  • Packs spares as per Company specifications
  • Despatches spares as per instructions on picking lists
  • Conducts stock counts as per Company procedures (Daily, Monthly)
  • Ensures stocks are correct and available at all times, advises Spares Advisor/Manager accordingly
  • Presents stocks for audits/stock counts as required
  • Housekeeping
  • Maintaining bin accuracy and consolidating stock as required
  • Enters all spares received/despatched onto spares system
  • Record keeping, i.e. completion and filing of required documentation (POD’s, IBST’s, waybills)
  • Attending to branch queries and supplier queries
  • Assist Technicians/Contractor with part numbers etc
  • System maintenance
  • Adhoc tasks related to warehousing and administration as required by spares Associate/ Lead / Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of Grade 12 with proven experience in a spares or similar environment.
  • Be able to work proficiently with figures.
  • Good communication skills and computer literacy (esp SAP/WMS and Microsoft office)
  • A valid forklift, Reach Truck & or Order Picker drivers licence will be a definite advantage.
