Primary Purpose

The Spare Parts Manager reports to the Customer Relations Manager and manages 6 subordinates. The primary purpose of this role is to define and implement the company's purchasing strategy, oversee supply chain management, and lead sales activities to provide effective supply and services to clients. This position plays a key role in increasing spare parts revenue and enhancing customer service levels, contributing to the company's growth and profitability.

Responsibilities
  1. Spare Parts Function: Oversee sales for spare parts, implement process roadmaps to fulfill customer demand, manage budgeting and forecasting, establish pricing and agreements, monitor KPIs, stay updated on market offerings, oversee order expediting, and build long-term customer relationships.
  2. Procurement and Supply Function: Manage supplier database, develop suppliers, source manufacturing suppliers, qualify suppliers, conduct site visits, ensure correct pricing on SAP, oversee supply order expediting, assist with supplier payments, and ensure BBBEE compliance.
  3. Logistics Function: Manage transportation of spare parts, coordinate with agents and customers, monitor incoterms, adhere to transport budgets, maintain procedures, and support team goals.
Education and Experience

At least a tertiary qualification (N.Dip.) in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, with experience in sales and customer account management. A marketing, commerce, or business-related qualification with technical/engineering sales experience is beneficial. Strong leadership experience is required, with a minimum of 5 years in business development, customer management, procurement, or sales. Supply chain or warehouse management experience, knowledge of contract law and pricing, analytical skills, SAP proficiency, and familiarity with aluminium smelter/heavy industry equipment are advantageous.
