Job summary

CUBECOM designs, develops, and manufactures advanced RF communication systems for satellite applications. We seek a Software Developer to design, build and maintain proprietary production test systems that verify every unit before it goes into orbit.

You will develop Python test scripts, C# PC applications and databases driving production test stations, ensuring ATS compliance and traceability. Production testing generates large data sets; you will shape data capture, storage and traceability,

Qualifications

• South African citizenship or valid work permit.
• B Tech / B Sc in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in the development of PC software applications.
• Hands-on development experience in both C# (.NET) and Python.
• Experience designing and working with relational databases (e.g. MySQL).

Responsibilities

• Test software development: design, develop and maintain proprietary production test software (Python, C#) and test sequences.
• ATS implementation: translate ATS into production tests with traceability.
• Test equipment integration: work with engineers on test equipment controlled by PC-based applications.
• Test data management: design and maintain databases (e.g. MySQL) for large data volumes.
• Configuration verification: ensure unit configurations align with product baselines.
• Test reporting: generate ATRs automatically from stored data.
• User interfaces: develop robust operator interfaces for test stations.
• Integration: connect test software with production, QA and engineering functions.
• Software quality: apply version control, documentation and change control.
• Support: assist production, engineering and customers with test failures and data queries.
