Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Fleet Manager to oversee our client’s vehicle fleet in Soweto. You will direct daily operations, coordinate maintenance, monitor regulatory compliance, and drive cost efficiency while maintaining safety standards.

Ideal candidates have proven fleet management experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with fleet software. A valid license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Fleet Manager or similar for commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet management best practices.
• Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the company fleet, including scheduling maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, licenses and permits.
• Monitor fuel consumption and maintenance costs to identify savings opportunities.
• Develop and implement safety programs and training for fleet drivers.
• Maintain records of fleet assets including mileage, service history and insurance.
• Optimize routing and scheduling to improve efficiency and meet delivery demands.
