A leading company in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Technical / Field Service Engineer. This role involves on-site and remote commissioning of BESS systems and solar inverters while providing excellent customer support. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in the PV or BESS sectors, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Willing to provide service locally and to other African countries.

Deliver technical support to customers effectively and on time.Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting, testing of solar inverters, and technical support.Lead or assist with assigned projects.Coordinate with R&D engineering in China if required during troubleshooting.Provide service reports to customers and supervisors promptly.Monitor and maintain electrical equipment or machinery performance.Update customers on the status of open service tickets.Take ownership of customer issues and follow through to resolution with HQ support.Order and restock materials as needed.Participate in ongoing training to stay updated with latest developments.Provide clear feedback to customers and reporting managers.Qualifications and experience : 3-5 years' experience in PV or BESS renewable industry sector.Experience in troubleshooting or commissioning of commercial and utility-scale BESS and PV inverters is advantageous.Proficiency with test equipment and hand tools.Strong customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to follow instructions and SOPs closely.Willing to provide service locally and to other African countries.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), OSHA, NSPA70A, Electrical Safety.Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.Additional certifications (First aid, Firefighting, ORHVS, ECSA registration, solar / energy renewable training) are advantageous.Additional details : Seniority level : Mid-Senior levelEmployment type : Full-timeJob function : Engineering, Management, Customer ServiceIndustry : Solar Electric Power GenerationThis job is currently active and accepting applications.
