MyCareerCraft is seeking a passionate Sous Chef for a leading 5-star property in Cape Town. You will support the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring culinary excellence and strict food safety standards.

Responsibilities include supervising daily service, overseeing prep and plating, assisting menu development and cost control, managing stock and supplier coordination, and training junior staff. HACCP compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited culinary qualification (minimum NQF Level 5 or above).
• 3–5 years experience in fine-dining or 5-star kitchen.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP and R638 food safety compliance.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa (valid work permit if foreign national).

• Support, guide and train junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking and plating

• Make sure all food is prepared to the correct standards, recipe and presentation

• Enforce hygiene and HACCP standards as per South African food safety regulations

• Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff

Requirements

• Accredited Culinary Qualification (minimum NQF Level 5 or above)
