Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations with Head Chef.

• Manage stock control, ordering and rotation.
• Uphold hygiene, health and food safety standards.
• Lead the kitchen in Head Chef's absence.
• Mentor and support junior kitchen staff.

An exclusive private game reserve in the Northern Cape is seeking a skilled SOUS CHEF to join its close-knit kitchen team. The role suits an experienced chef who thrives in a refined, remote setting and takes pride in consistency and quality under pressure.

Core Criteria

• Previous five-star luxury hospitality experience essential
• Proven track record at Senior Sous Chef level
• Strong understanding of kitchen operations, stock control, and hygiene standards
• Ability to support and deputise for the Head Chef when required
• Comfortable working in a remote, off-grid lodge environment
• Good leadership and team management skills
• Passion for quality ingredients and refined, seasonal cooking

Core Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations
• Maintain consistency in food quality, plating, and presentation
• Assist with menu planning and food costing
• Manage stock control, ordering, and rotation

• Step in to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence

• Salary: +-R14,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience
