A leading catering company seeks an experienced Sous Chef to join their team in Johannesburg East. The role involves assisting the executive chef in managing kitchen operations, maintaining hygiene standards, and creating recipes. Candidates must have a culinary degree, at least one year of experience, and strong computer skills. This position involves working shifts and long hours, with a salary range of R25,000 to R26,000 CTC.
Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Sous Chef to join their team in Johannesburg East.Location : JHB EastRequirements : At least 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef.Matric.Formal degree / diploma in culinary arts or ARPL Test from a reputable institution (MUST have a verifiable certificate to present)Computer Literacy is a must (MS Office, etc)Experience in a similar field.This job requires handling money, so all background checks will be conducted.There will be shift work and long hoursJob Duties : Assist with the management of the kitchen together with the executive chef.Maintain and implement hygiene standards.Assist with stock-taking.Create and maintain recipes.About : Performs various kitchen duties as required, including but not limited to meal preparations, following recipes, and delivering exceptional food quality to the necessary food cost percentage.
All such must be delivered in line with brand standards, ensuring consistency and continuity in providing excellent service to our clients, with a focus on food safety and occupational health and safety.
