About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the dynamic team at Hope Valley Cafe and pizzeria at Grand junction Road. As our Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in running a busy kitchen and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our customers. This is a full-time position based in Hope Valley, SA 5090.

What you'll be doing
  • Overall management and organization of the kitchen
  • Preparing a wide range of high-quality dishes to our exacting standards
  • Overseeing and coordinating the work of the kitchen team
  • Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene guidelines
  • Participating in menu planning, development and food cost
  • Providing training and mentorship to junior members of the kitchen staff
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and efficient working environment
  • A good knowledge of cooking French and Italian cuisine
  • Able to cook and have knowledge of bulk cooking and bulk cooking inventory
What were looking for
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent in a high-volume cafe, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques and presentation
  • Excellent time management, multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating a kitchen team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Current Food Safety Certificate and knowledge of HACCP principles
  • Must have full Australian work rights (no sponsorship available)
