Our client is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to be based in Kempton Park, South Africa. The purpose of this position is to oversee the full spectrum of procurement processes for Africa and regional offices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an approved suppliers list for each category, ensuring dual/multiple sourcing according to sourcing rules.
- Develop mitigation plans for single-source spend.
- Identify risks in the supply chain and manage programs to mitigate these risks.
- Identify and onboard suppliers in accordance with Procurement Policy.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to execute purchase orders and follow up on delivery schedules.
- Maintain proper master data in ERP systems.
- Analyze inventory reports and monitor inventory replenishment processes.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with policies and procedures.
- Analyze supplier spend and identify opportunities for savings.
- Investigate continuous improvement opportunities in procurement processes.
- Plan and execute logistics (Road, Ocean, Air).
- Track and manage supplier performance, maintaining strong relationships.
- Lead supplier sustainability projects and reporting.
- Define and implement sourcing plans using strategic sourcing methodologies, including RFQ and RFP processes.
- Negotiate prices, quantities, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure comprehensive contract negotiations.
- Assess quotes and prepare detailed cost breakdowns for supplier selection.
- Improve vendor management to rationalize and harmonize the supply base.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support XGP requirements and serve as a central point for Africa XGP processes.
- Manage GEP projects, contracts, and pricing.
- Develop procurement systems and processes ensuring trade compliance.
- Proficiency in SAP ERP, including MRP and Master Data management.
- Understand sourcing methodologies thoroughly.
- Possess strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of iScala is an advantage.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset.
- Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating analytical thinking, meticulousness, and follow-up skills.
- Take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Preferably an Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering background.
- Diploma in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- CIPS / APICS related qualification.
- Experience with suppliers and conducting evaluations is advantageous.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in international sourcing processes.
- 10 years of solid experience in Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Experience in the Metrology Business or Instrumentation industry is required.
- Willingness to travel between Head Office and Morocco.
