Job description

Core purpose of the role: Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and leading the implementation of solutions and capability architecture for a specific business capability or user journey, aligned with the overall digital vision and target architecture.

In addition to guiding business service teams, the Solutions Architect conducts research on existing systems and devises solutions that integrate within those systems.

This role may involve direct client interactions to demonstrate solutions, clarify business software capabilities and requirements, and resolve issues during the business development cycle.

Key deliverables and outputs
  1. Translate the digital vision and target architecture into solution designs and change requirements.
  2. Design end-to-end solutions, including cross-domain integration and APIs.
  3. Define non-functional, operational, and quality requirements.
  4. Create technical stories to enable business capabilities, promoting reuse of existing components, and accept technical features post-demo.
  5. Collaborate on planning the release of technical stories.
  6. Develop solution proposals and design documents for RFI/RFP/RFQ and engagement.
  7. Provide guidance to delivery teams to ensure alignment.
  8. Ensure solution compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
  9. Manage technical debt and technology obsolescence at the solution level.
  10. Advocate for adopting new technologies into solutions.
  11. Define application and technical architecture structures to meet business and performance requirements.
  12. Lead architecture analysis, design, and implementation, ensuring solutions fulfill requirements.
  13. Transform functional requirements into technical specifications considering security, performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  14. Collaborate with other architects for compliant component integration delivering optimal performance.
  15. Review architecture deliverables throughout the SDLC for quality and traceability.
  16. Develop roadmaps for future changes.
  17. Deliver documentation, diagrams, and architectural deliverables to stakeholders.
  18. Assist with deployment, backup, disaster recovery, and system performance support.

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

Minimum Required Qualification: Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; relevant Postgraduate Degree; TOGAF or equivalent certification.

Work Experience: 5-10 years in IT, with at least 5 years in an IT Architecture role managing complex initiatives; experience with Salesforce CRM, Apex, LWC, VisualForce, and Salesforce integration with ERP systems like SAP or Microsoft Dynamics; knowledge of architecture frameworks and information management practices.

Skills: Strong communication, customer expectation management, strategic translation, decision-making, customer-centricity, resilience, and knowledge of ITIL and current technologies.
