Job description

Overview:

Inuka is working with a leading renewable energy company looking to hire a Solar PRM/Mechanical Supervisor on a fixed-term 18-month site-based contract to oversee subcontractor management and quality assurance for solar tracker construction (Posts, Racks & Modules) on utility-scale PV projects in South Africa. The role also supports electrical and civil works as needed, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise on-site subcontractors and ensure high-quality installation of tracker structures (PRM)
  • Support project delivery aligned with corporate safety, quality, and schedule targets
  • Conduct inspections, manage progress reporting, and ensure compliance with project specs and QHSE standards
  • Coordinate installation of structures, modules, and testing procedures
  • Report deviations, quality or safety issues to the Construction Site Manager
  • Oversee daily reporting, resource allocation, milestone tracking, and client inspection coordination
  • Ensure contractor performance meets KPIs and project timelines

Qualifications:

  • Civil/Mechanical Engineering background with expertise in solar tracker systems
  • 5+ years of construction management experience; 2+ years in utility-scale solar PV projects
  • Post Racks and Modules Expertise
  • PV Solar project tracker experience
  • Quality documentation compilation
  • Review and inspection knowledge
