Solar Practice Manager

Location: Remote (Continental United States)

Do you enjoy working in wind, solar, energy storage, hydrogen, biofuel, and/or conventional power generation technologies? Are you interested in enabling project developers, financial institutions, and investors to bring new projects online that support the future of energy globally?

ICF’s Technical Advisory Team is focused on facilitating the development and investment in energy infrastructure. As the Solar Practice Manager, your role will involve engaging with clients and solving challenges related to the development, design, construction, operation, and analysis of solar energy projects.

You will join a motivated team of industry experts with a rewarding culture. Your responsibilities include delivering high-value technical diligence, providing solutions for technical and commercial challenges, and working across various energy technologies while engaging with clients and stakeholders.

Our services support strategic investments, portfolio management, operational planning, market developments, policy analysis, regulatory support, and customer engagement. As a Solar Practice Manager, you will provide independent engineering and owner’s engineering advisory services, leveraging your experience in solar PV and battery storage systems.

We are seeking a motivated candidate with experience managing solar photovoltaic projects, including leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project schedules and budgets, and conducting technical reviews. The role involves business development, thought leadership, and standards improvement, with travel expected up to 10% within the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in PV solar technology and project management
  • Experience managing teams with direct reports
  • Knowledge of solar resource & performance modeling, construction, operations, and risk assessment
  • Experience with project contracts such as PPA, interconnection, supply, and O&M contracts
  • Experience in technical research and writing technical papers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) designation (desirable)
  • Experience in proposal writing and business development
  • 8+ years’ experience in the energy sector
  • Master's degree (preferred)
  • Programming skills such as Python, Matlab, etc.
  • Experience with other renewable technologies
  • Strong experience with PVsyst

Pay Range

The full-time pay range for this position is $118,730.00 - $201,840.00, depending on experience, skills, education, and location.
