Job Title: Solar Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Solar Design Engineer with 6+ years of experience in developing and optimising solar PV system designs, effectively balancing technical performance and commercial feasibility?

Do you have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy?

Our client, a global leader in renewable energy, with solar and wind projects across Africa, is seeking a Solar Design Engineer to join their team. This is not just another design engineer role – it offers the unique opportunity to lead and take ownership of the design and development of utility-scale solar PV systems and work with an international team and key stakeholders, including EPC contractors and suppliers.

1. 6+ years of experience in solar PV design, specifically with large-scale utility projects (50MW+)
2. Strong technical knowledge in developing electrical layouts, array configurations, and integrating energy storage systems
3. Expertise in energy yield modeling and LCoE analysis, with a focus on optimizing system efficiency and cost reduction
4. Proven ability to manage design processes from early-stage development to project completion, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines and budgets
5. Ability to work collaboratively with international teams and key stakeholders, including EPC contractors and suppliers
