Job summary

Network2 is seeking a dynamic Solar Design Engineer to join its forward-thinking renewable energy team in Gauteng, South Africa. The role focuses on designing and delivering cutting‑edge solar PV solutions that power a sustainable future.

You will develop detailed PV system designs for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects, perform energy yield and shading analyses, and prepare drawings and documentation using industry-standard software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in solar PV design and engineering.
• Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, or similar design tools.
• Strong knowledge of SANS codes, grid interconnection standards, and renewable energy regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed solar PV system designs for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.
• Perform energy yield assessments, shading analysis, and system optimization.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and documentation using industry-standard software.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, grid codes, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver innovative solutions.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
