Job summary

Penta Consulting is sourcing three Software Quality Engineers (Level N) to join our client's Corporate team on a 4-month fixed-term contract, based in Cape Town.

The Software Quality Engineer will drive QA initiatives across multiple projects, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, and push testing automation, collaborating with development, business, and architecture leads to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Qualifications

• Technical Testing across backend and frontend domains.
• Ability to build and maintain test automation frameworks.
• Proficient in testing APIs and system interfaces.
• Experience with performance and security testing tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Role Overview

The Software Quality Engineer will drive quality assurance initiatives across multiple projects, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, and drive innovation within the team's testing strategies and automation. This role requires close collaboration with development, business, and architecture leads to ensure high-quality software delivery.

• Technical Testing: Strong experience in both backend and frontend testing.
• Automation: Proven ability to build and maintain test automation frameworks.
• API & Interface Testing: Proficient in testing APIs and system interfaces.
• Performance & Security: Skilled in tools like K6, JMeter, LoadRunner, OWASP ZAP, and Burp Suite are a bonus.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, ADO, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Cloud: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
