Job summary

Uyandiswa Project Management Services in Johannesburg is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to ensure reliability, functionality, and quality of software delivered to clients.

You will design and execute test strategies, implement automated testing frameworks, and collaborate with developers, BAs and product owners in an Agile environment to raise quality standards across the SDLC.

Minimum 3-5 years' QA experience and ISTQB certification would be advantageous in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of software quality assurance or testing experience.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent is advantageous.
• Experience with test automation tools and defect tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution with development teams.
• Design and implement automated testing frameworks to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to embed quality in the SDLC.
• Perform performance, security, and usability testing as required by project scope.
• Report test coverage, defect trends, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to improve quality.

Uyandiswa is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to ensure the reliability, functionality, and quality of software solutions delivered to our clients. You will design and execute test strategies, identify defects, and champion quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, working closely with development teams.
• Design and implement automated testing frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform performance, security, and usability testing as required by project scope.
• Report on test coverage, defect trends, and overall software quality metrics to project stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• ISTQB certification (or equivalent) advantageous.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in software quality assurance or testing roles.
• Experience with test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Postman) and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and testing.
• Experience testing within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
