Job description

Our client in the IT Industry is looking to hire a Software QA Tester.

Duties and Responsibilities

System Testing

• Gather all documentation for testing software releases.
• Test all functions as per requirements to ensure everything is working as per release notes.
• Conduct all negative tests and provide a report back to the development team on the status of the tests conducted on the release of the software.
• Work with the development team to enhance the testing process and streamline turnaround times to achieve the best accuracy in testing systems.
• Collaborate with the systems team to ensure proper deployment of releases.
• Debug and troubleshoot systems to gather all required information to report back to developers for defect resolution.

Reporting

• Maintain a list of all releases and their statuses, indicating what is being tested, what is next, and what has been sent back to developers.

Knowledge

• Application support knowledge.
• Knowledge of Windows server operating systems.
• Knowledge of mobile phone operating systems.
• Understanding of databases to view data in SQL.
• Ability to read log files for errors.
• Problem troubleshooting skills.

Requirements

• Grade 12.
• Qualifications: Computer science studies or related field.
• Experience: 2-3+ years in testing systems with a proven track record.
• Must have own car and valid driver’s license.
• Responsible, trustworthy, accurate, and honest.
