About the Role

As a Software Engineering Lead, you will manage and guide a diverse team of engineers, working closely with management and stakeholders to ensure the success of your team. This role requires strong technical skills, good communication, and leadership abilities, with responsibilities including:

1. Technical and administrative decision-making, performance and code reviews, mentorship, and strategic direction.
2. 30% implementation, 20% project management, and 50% team management and mentorship, fostering a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

1. Releasing management inclusive of sign off for a well-formed test plan, rollback plan, communication plan, and release notes.
2. Overseeing resource management including administrative duties such as time and attendance, resource planning, performance management, 1-on-1 chats, and career development.
3. Performing project management duties such as agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and business engagement.
4. Providing technical leadership in solution design, technical implementation, output quality, and coaching of team members.
5. Owning the team strategy for futureproofing, maintenance, and improvement including technical, operational, and resource level plans.
6. Supporting management of queries escalated to the development team.
7. Implementing complex technical specifications and reviewing new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Requirements

1. BSC degree in computer science or equivalent.
2. At least 3 years serving as a senior software engineer or solutions architect, mentoring intermediate and junior software engineers.
3. At least 7 years professional experience in the technology sector.
4. Proficient in SQL and data manipulation including dot net, C#, Angular, GIT, and Azure pipelines (preferred).
5. Good understanding of SOLID principles and industry best practices.
6. Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
7. Emotional intelligence with a good understanding of team dynamics.
8. Established organizational, planning, and change management skills.
9. Ability to uphold ethics and promote a culture of honesty and accountability.
