Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking a skilled Software Engineering Application Developer proficient in COBOL programming language on the IBM Mainframe to design, build, and configure applications aligned with business processes and application requirements. Expertise in C and Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP) is highly advantageous. This role demands an independent performer who can become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and actively contribute to team discussions and problem-solving initiatives.

What you will do:

• Design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements using COBOL on the IBM Mainframe.
• Develop innovative solutions to align with business needs ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize applications.
• Perform troubleshooting and debugging activities to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Design and Build Enablement.
• Contribute to Build Management, Configuration, and Release Management processes.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance application development capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in application development and maintenance with a focus on COBOL programming and IBM Mainframe systems.
• Expertise in COBOL programming with experience on IBM Mainframe systems.
• Knowledge of C and Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP) is an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in Design and Build Enablement, Build Management, and Configuration and Release Management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.
• Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team goals and discussions.
