Job summary

ATS Client in Cape Town seeks a Java Back-End Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services. You will build RESTful APIs and event-driven solutions, develop cloud-native apps on AWS and Kubernetes, and contribute to microservice and event-driven architectures.

The role requires 6+ years of backend experience with strong Java and Spring Boot, plus SQL/NoSQL expertise. Docker and containerization experience are expected. Location: Cape Town, salary negotiable.

Java Back‑End Software Engineer

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable back-end services

The Essentials

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate / NCV)
• 6+ years of back-end software development experience
• Proven experience building and supporting production-grade systems
• Strong Java and Spring Boot expertise
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Cloud platform experience (AWS is a bonus!)
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
• Exposure to Docker, containers, and Kubernetes
