About the Role

The Level III Software Engineer plays an integral role in a cross-functional team dedicated to the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and operation of each product. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems, with a focus on scalability, performance, and future needs. They guide and support developers and stakeholders in technical scoping, progress, and problem resolution.

The Back-end Software Engineer focuses on building solutions that offer optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. They develop server-side components that power application functionalities, particularly for systems related to mobile devices, live data, and other products outside traditional banking. Emphasis is placed on database skills, especially PostgreSQL and Kafka, to support our data capabilities.

Candidate Requirements

• Grade 12 National Certificate (minimum)
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (preferred)
• 6+ years proven experience in back-end software development, project delivery, and implementation using relevant technologies
