Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional, a RELX company, is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to build web-based software for regulatory, life sciences, and related markets. You will contribute across backend services, UIs, data platforms, and cloud technologies, applying AI-assisted development responsibly.

You will work with Azure, SQL Server, and modern frontend technologies while ensuring maintainability, security, and quality through automated tests and code reviews.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with C#, .NET, REST APIs, Angular, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and writing queries.
• Familiarity with automated testing, Git, and code reviews.
• Experience using AI coding tools or willingness to adopt them.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain C#/.NET APIs, microservices, background processes, and Angular UIs.
• Modernize legacy applications with well-scoped changes for maintainability.
• Design MS SQL Server data models, queries, and integrations.
• Use AI development tools to plan, implement, test, and document work, review AI output.
• Write automated tests and participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Work with Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, logging, and monitoring.
• Collaborate across product, quality engineering, architecture, security, and operations.

About The Role

As an Intermediate Software Engineer, you will help build and enhance web-based software solutions that support pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device manufacturers in meeting global regulatory requirements. You will contribute across backend services, user interfaces, data platforms, and cloud technologies while applying AI-assisted development practices responsibly. Working within a collaborative environment, you will help modernize existing applications and deliver reliable, maintainable solutions that create value for customers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain C#/.NET APIs, microservices, background processes, and Angular user interfaces.
• Help modernize legacy applications through well-scoped changes that improve maintainability, reliability, and the user experience.
• Design and work with Microsoft SQL Server data models, queries, and integrations.
• Use approved AI development tools to help plan, implement, test, debug, refactor, and document work, reviewing and validating AI-generated output before it becomes part of the product.
• Write automated tests and apply test-driven development where it helps clarify behaviour and reduce risk.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and shared decisions about design and implementation.
• Work with Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, logging, and monitoring to help deliver and support production software.
• Collaborate with product, quality engineering, architecture, security, and operations colleagues to take work from requirements through release and support.

Requirements

• Around 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent evidence of delivering production software.
• Practical experience with C#, .NET, REST APIs, Angular, and TypeScript.
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing queries and understanding data access and performance considerations.
• A sound grasp of automated testing, Git, code review, and iterative software delivery.
• Experience using AI coding tools, or a strong willingness to adopt them thoughtfully.
• The ability to own moderately complex tasks, communicate progress and trade-offs, and seek input when a decision has wider architectural or customer impact.
• Care for security, data privacy, reliability, and clear documentation.
• Helpful experience with Azure services, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, legacy modernization, microservice integration, observability, production troubleshooting, or software in life sciences, healthcare, regulatory, or other high-trust environments.
