Job summary

Capitec invites an experienced Software Development Manager: Cash Devices to lead ATM applications, device integrations and operational delivery. You will set technology direction, manage key vendor relationships and ensure security, availability and resilience of critical banking systems while building high-performing delivery teams across cash-devices platforms.

You will drive delivery excellence, oversee incident management and continually improve processes, architecture and testing

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce or Information Technology (Computer Science).
• Experience in ATM delivery, support and operations.
• Strong leadership in banking/financial services tech environments.
• Proven ability to build high-performing teams through coaching and mentoring.
• Experience translating roadmaps into delivery plans and epics.
• Experience managing critical production systems and high-availability platforms.

What you'll do

• Partner with product, technology and business stakeholders to deliver strategic objectives
• Translate the strategic product roadmap into executable delivery plans, release forecasts, milestones and team-level priorities across the cash-devices technology portfolio
• Lead agile planning – decomposing features into delivery-ready epics and user stories, managing dependencies, capacity, sprint and release planning, and tracking delivery
• Drive engineering best practices: secure coding, code reviews, CI/CD and production readiness

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of direct ATM domain experience
• Proven experience in ATM delivery, support and operational environments
• Strong technical delivery leadership in banking or financial services
• Proven ability to build high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, succession planning and career growth
• Experience leading agile delivery teams – translating roadmaps into delivery plans, decomposing features into epics and user stories, forecasting, managing dependencies and tracking execution
• Experience managing critical production systems and high-availability platforms
