Job summary

AnyVan Ltd. is seeking an engineer for the Allocations team in Cape Town to focus on data and backend engineering that enables transport partners to access, book, and allocate against the right jobs.

This role centers on building scalable systems and tooling used across the platform. You will design production-grade systems, operate in production, and write clean, maintainable code while tackling full-stack data flows.

Qualifications

• Experience in an engineering role (2-6 years approximately), ideally in a scale-up or fast-growing product environment
• A good understanding of APIs, data models, and system interactions
• Exposure to cloud environments and modern deployment workflows
• Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving requirements
• A bias toward action, shipping value quickly, then iterating
• Proactive mindset and a want to deliver above and beyond not just what you're tasked
• Solid coding skills and a solutions/problems solving approach
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence beyond your code
• Bonus points for exposure to marketplaces, logistics, pricing, or e-commerce systems.

We're looking for an engineer to work with our Allocations team. This is more focused on data and back end engineering problems relating to how our transport partners can access and get booked and allocated against the right jobs. This role will focus on the the data, platforms and tools that enables that to happen.

Location and Eligibility:

• Cape Town -based, able to commute to the Central Business District

• Happy to be onsite at least 3 days per week

• Fully eligible to work in South Africa
