About the Role

The Electrum team lead role is a dual technical software development and management leadership position. Electrum is a Java house, meaning that you'll contribute to our projects in Java. While prior Java experience is not required, you will be expected to learn Java as part of the role. Electrum operates in a highly collaborative environment, and our software has a significant impact. Although we currently adopt an 'Office first' approach, our teams work closely together in person.

Job Description

  • Technical Expertise
    • Software development – Contribute to software projects by leading by example.
    • Solution architecture – Design and review architectural solutions.
  • Software Delivery
    • Project management – Collaborate with Project Office, Product teams, and Professional Services to define, prioritize, and execute projects.
    • Use software development methodologies to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Team Leadership
    • Team management – Set goals and monitor progress.
    • Growing team members – Support their professional and personal growth.
    • Team commitment and purpose – Foster a shared sense of purpose.
    • Organizational savvy – Understand and influence Electrum's vision and strategy.
    • Recruiting – Identify talent gaps and recruit accordingly.
  • Performance Management
    • One-on-ones – Conduct regular meetings to discuss performance and development.
    • Performance reviews – Evaluate team members' performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a software development team.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a developer in a software development team.
