Job summary

Parvana in Cape Town, South Africa, is seeking a Software Developer to design and maintain backend and full-stack features using a Supabase and TypeScript stack. The role supports both greenfield and legacy systems, with hybrid work arrangements and collaboration across Africa and Europe.

What you will be doing

• Design and maintain backend and full-stack features using a Supabase and TypeScript stack.
• Work across both greenfield and existing brownfield systems, balancing new development with the extension of production code.
• Manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and implement authentication via Microsoft Entra ID.
• Utilize Claude Code as a core tool to accelerate delivery and maintain code quality.
• Coordinate with EU-based stakeholders and engineers using strong asynchronous communication habits.
• Contribute to technical decision-making, engineering processes, and standards as the organization grows.

What our client is looking for

• 5 - 7+ years of development experience, with strong proficiency in TypeScript, relational databases (SQL).
• A proven track record of designing and maintaining end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions is essential, rather than just operating existing ones.
• Demonstrated proficiency using Claude Code or Gemini or Co-Pilot or equivalent is a required technical skill.
• Strong written and verbal communication is mandatory due to the need for daily collaboration between South Africa and Europe.
• Valuable extras include experience with Jira or equivalent automation, MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, working in regulated industries (financial services/private equity preferred but not essential), and previous experience in distributed teams.
