Software Developer L2

Our Client, a Global Tech firm, is seeking a Software Developer L2 to join their team in Sandton on a contract basis.

They offer stability, growth, attractive rates, and a great working environment. To work within Development, Support, and Maintenance in a high-performance area in the bank, providing custom solutions that are critical to the bank's ability to manage clients.

The team provides critical services to operate effectively and integrates with numerous different systems in the bank to enhance or leverage your banking knowledge.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Produce working quality software that meets the design.
2. Develop critical and complex technical components in area of accountability.
3. Deliver system component designs that are robust and fault-tolerant for large complex systems.
4. Ensure system component designs are supportable, maintainable, and reusable.
5. Deliver software that is observable and scalable.
6. Conduct an estimate of work effort.
7. Troubleshoot and problem-solve software issues and provide guidance to other team members.
8. Continuous improvement of software.
9. Provide maintenance and support of software in environments of accountability.
10. Develop unit and system test cases and conduct unit and system testing.
11. Create deployment artifacts and store them in the source control library.
12. Manage the deployment package and its execution.
13. Optimize the tool change in collaboration with the Biz / Dev / Ops Engineer.
14. Ensure integration of own work with other individuals and in the team.
15. Collaborate with designers, product owners, and engineering leads to refine the solution.
16. Contribute to the decomposition of the system solution into component parts for development.
17. Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives, and values.
18. Stay abreast of developments in the field of expertise.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

1. IT-related Diploma or Degree.
2. Approximately 7 years proven experience.
3. Experience dealing with technical platforms as well as development-related problems.
4. Certificate in relevant language where available.
5. Unix, Java, JEE Webservices (XML, Soap), DB2, FileNet P8, IBM CMIS, Image Services (ITH), CMOD, CMIS.
