Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Social Worker to join the Community Programs team in Bloemfontein. You will engage directly with individuals and families, provide support and resources, and work with a multidisciplinary team to strengthen community well-being.

The role requires SACSSP registration, a BSW, and demonstrated experience in community-based social services. It is an on-site position with opportunities for professional development and meaningful community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Registered with SACSSP as a practicing social worker.
• Experience in community-based social services or a related field.
• Strong understanding of social welfare policies in the Free State.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and crisis intervention skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive social assessments to identify client needs and develop support plans.
• Provide counselling and therapeutic interventions to clients facing social and emotional challenges.
• Connect clients with community resources, services and support networks.
• Advocate for clients' rights within relevant systems and agencies.
• Maintain confidential case records in line with professional standards.
• Organize and facilitate group sessions and workshops on parenting, finances and health.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a caseload.
