Job description

Duration: Immediate until 30th of November 2024

Reporting to: Out of School Manager

Organisational Background

Centre for Community Impact (CCI) is a non-profit South African organisation based in Pretoria. We aim to be a centre of excellence in strategic health and development communication programs that are centred around meaningful Community Engagement.

Position Summary

Effective oversight of safe space operations and primary supervision of community teams. Provision of Professional Counselling Services to all programme beneficiaries.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Provide Leadership and supportive supervision to community team to ensure that they fulfil their daily duties.
  2. Oversee Safe Space operations and rollout of daily activities.
  3. Develop a daily schedule of Safe Space activities.
  4. Screen, identify and provide guidance and counselling to in and out of School AYPs experiencing psychosocial challenges.
  5. Attend and participate in various local stakeholders’ meetings.
  6. Provide orientation training to Community team i.e. SAWs, PGTs and ACs, CYCWs, CCGs, MFs, AO, SO, HK, AMBs.
  7. Consolidate Monthly and Quarterly Community Component Reports from teams.
Minimum Requirements
  1. An appropriate 4-year Bachelor Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.
  2. Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
  3. Minimum of 5 years appropriate / recognizable experience in social work involving case management after registration as a Social Worker with SACSSP.
  4. At least 3 years’ experience working with Adolescents and Youth programs.
  5. Good writing skills that will enable the incumbent to compile reports.
  6. Good communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
  7. Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  8. Ability to work individually and as a team.
  9. Knowledge and understanding of human behaviour, social systems, and skills to intervene at a point where people interact with their environment to promote their well-being.
  10. People Management and empowerment skills.
  11. Information and knowledge management skills.
  12. Knowledge of programme and project management skills.
