About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Program Manager to lead impactful initiatives within the community. This role is based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, ZA and focuses on the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of social welfare programs designed to address critical community needs. You will be responsible for managing program budgets, leading a team of dedicated professionals, and ensuring the effective delivery of services. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of social challenges, and a proven track record in program management. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and a passion for community upliftment. The role is predominantly remote, offering flexibility while requiring occasional site visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of various social programs.
• Develop program strategies aligned with organizational goals and community needs assessments.
• Manage program budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise program staff and volunteers.
• Build and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders, government agencies, and NGOs.
• Monitor program performance and impact, collecting data and preparing comprehensive reports.
• Identify funding opportunities and contribute to grant writing efforts.
• Ensure programs are delivered in compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Community Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in social program management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in developing and managing complex social programs.
• Strong understanding of the social, economic, and environmental issues impacting communities in the Eastern Cape, ZA .
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability in budget management and financial oversight.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and remote collaboration tools.
• Experience in a remote or hybrid work environment.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
