The main purpose of this role is to provide specialist support and management of the company's social media platforms.
The Social Media Specialist reports directly to the Digital Marketing Manager. This role is responsible for creating content strategies and efficiently executing and managing multiple social media pages.

Internal liaison occurs with all internal departments, while external liaison takes place with customers through social media.
Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but is not limited to):
- Initiate and execute creative content strategies that align with the company's brand.
- Copywriting of all social media posts according to brand guidelines.
- Conduct market research analysis to identify trends, real-time search and news media activity, popular social media topics, electronic commerce trends, market opportunities, or competitor performance.
- Assist in developing social media transaction or security policies.
- Stay updated on government regulations and emerging web technologies to ensure regulatory compliance by reviewing policies, engaging with colleagues, participating in educational programs, meetings, workshops, or professional organizations.
- Contribute to improving and developing the digital marketing function through social platforms.
- Collaborate with other marketing staff to integrate and complement marketing strategies across multiple social media platforms.
- Participate in developing and implementing online marketing strategies with overall responsibility for social media execution.
- Enhance social media activities through ongoing analysis, experimentation, or optimization tests using approved methods.
- Implement online marketing initiatives such as paid ads, affiliate programs, sponsorships, email promotions, or viral campaigns.
- Identify KPIs and report key metrics from social media activities or initiatives.
- Ensure positive social media sentiment and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Set up or optimize analytics tools to track visitor behaviors.
- Collect and analyze web metrics like visits, time on site, page views, transaction volume, revenue, traffic sources, click-through rates, conversion rates, and costs.
- Manage tracking and reporting of social media activities to provide insights to stakeholders.
- Conduct financial modeling, tracking, and reporting for online marketing programs or revenue forecasting.
- Execute digital competitions from planning to execution.
- Evaluate new media or technologies and recommend their application in marketing campaigns.
- Identify and evaluate hardware or software procurement for social media initiatives.
- Propose social media campaigns to marketing leaders.
- Collaborate with web, IT, service providers, and designers to create multimedia content that conforms to brand standards.
- Contribute to the development of specifications to promote transactional internet functionality and inform social media tactics.
- Manage social media campaigns in collaboration with sales, operations, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in evaluating and negotiating vendor or partner contracts.
- Attend KPI discussions and performance meetings with the Digital Marketing Manager.
- Maintain current knowledge of digital marketing methodologies and practices.
- Stay updated on remittance developments within the money transfer industry.
- Keep abreast of new product and partner launches.
Key Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma.
- Courses in Social Media and Digital Marketing.
- Minimum 5 years of digital marketing experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok).
- Experience (advantageous but not necessary) in Fintech and/or Financial Services for at least 3 years.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and marketing & communication processes.
- Content creation skills (video and static).
- Knowledge of websites.
