Your Role at Impact:

The marketing department is looking for an experienced and creative social media expert to join the social media marketing team in Cape Town. This role focuses on building content to highlight our people, values, culture, purpose, and passion for our product. The role also plays an instrumental role in supporting the social team and other internal stakeholders with content ideation, calendar planning, scheduling, community management, reporting, and more.

The position requires someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is a people person who loves networking, prides themselves on being deadline-driven, and has a strong background in and passion for exciting content creation.

What You'll Do:
  • Finding the people and culture story within the impact.com organisation and producing it into valuable content that reflects and represents our core values, culture, purpose, and passion for our product.
  • Content creation and production end-to-end. Including: networking to find/gather the story, interviewing, ideation, building content outlines, producing these into bite-sized social posts. Design briefs, design feedback, and copywriting.
  • Liaising with multiple stakeholders to place content strategically on social media and internally.
  • Detailed social monthly reporting on owned content: Build, analyse, create insights and recommendations.
  • Build and streamline workflows and team communications from the ground up to support content creation.

Social monthly content production and promotion:

  • Content ideation.
  • Networking, meetings, interviewing to find/gather the story across multiple departments.
  • Building content outlines, producing these into bite-sized social posts.
  • Design briefs, design feedback, Canva video editing, and copywriting.
  • Briefing designers on creatives and giving actionable, relevant design feedback.
  • Copywriting in brand tone.
  • Creation of workflow systems to support easy population and forward planning of all upcoming content.
  • Implementing feedback timeously.
  • Working with recruitment and HR to populate and regularly update LinkedIn Life Page with relevant content.
  • Work with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team to ensure calendar milestones are highlighted on social media platforms.
  • Work with stakeholders across the entire marketing organisation in order to ideate relevant content for our channels.
  • Share appropriate content with relevant internal stakeholders for company communications.
  • Promote content internally through various channels, including Slack.

Social reports/data analytics:

  • Use in-platform and SMM tool analytics to pull relevant data monthly. Build actionable insights and recommendations into a monthly report on owned content.
  • A quarterly short report on performance, including insights and recommendations.

Internal communications content support and promotions:

  • Produce people and culture content for global internal communications.
  • Share localised content with internal communications manager.
  • Review localised internal communications for brand tone/ brand identity accuracy.
  • Create new workflow structures.
  • Organize and maintain shared folders, imagery, workflow processes across multiple Saas tools including: Asana, GSuite, Hootsuite, etc.
  • Meet weekly and monthly deadlines comfortably.
What You Have:
  • Content production end-to-end, from ideation to ‘live’
  • Copywriting and editing
  • Design briefs and creative direction feedback
  • Social media management
  • Relevant degree or diploma in journalism, marketing, social media or similar
  • 7+ years of social media/marketing experience, ideally within a large marketing department
Beneficial experience:
  • Experience using Saas tools like Hootsuite/ Sprout Social/ Asana.
  • Working in a B2B or tech environment.
