Job Opening: Social Media Specialist

An exciting opportunity is available for a Social Media Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-paced marketing team. This role is ideal for a creative, strategic thinker with a passion for building engaged online communities and driving brand awareness through powerful social media campaigns.

The Role

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for the strategic planning, creation, execution, and management of content across multiple social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital trends and analytics, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with both internal teams and external audiences.

This role involves close collaboration with marketing, design, and technical teams to ensure a consistent and engaging brand presence across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative social media strategies aligned with brand objectives.
  • Write and schedule on-brand, engaging copy and multimedia content for all social platforms.
  • Conduct research on market trends, social topics, and competitor performance to inform campaigns.
  • Monitor online sentiment and respond to customer engagement in a timely and professional manner.
  • Run, track, and optimize social media campaigns, including paid ads and promotions.
  • Analyze and report on key performance metrics (KPIs) across platforms.
  • Manage tools for tracking user behavior, engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Plan and execute digital competitions and other interactive marketing initiatives.
  • Stay informed about digital marketing best practices, tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the broader digital marketing strategy.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing, Communication, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Digital Marketing
  • Minimum 5 years managing major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok)
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills (both video and static formats)
  • Familiarity with digital marketing analytics and reporting tools

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience in fintech or financial services
  • Understanding of website functionality and eCommerce trends
