Join a leading global non-profit organization in the medical field as a Social Media Coordinator based in Cape Town, where you'll play a vital role in raising awareness and educating the public about blood stem cell donation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Community management – manage each platform’s community for the purpose of driving engagement, answering queries and addressing concerns.
Educate and create content that is relevant to the needs and concerns of the community.
Conceptualise, create, and publish engaging content relevant to different digital community needs.
Manage and coordinate the process of interviewing patients, donors and other stakeholder stories.
Assist with co-ordination of influencer brand partnerships and other activities, as required.
Attend donor drives and other stakeholder events under the direction of the Social Media Manager and Head of Department to shoot content and assist.
Assist with the roll out of local content for international social media campaigns.
Manage and coordinate the process of writing patient and related donor content.
Assist with budgeting and other ad hoc activities as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
A relevant 3 year National Diploma. B degree qualification and advantage – such as Journalism and PR, etc.
Minimum 2 years of community management experience, with strong writing skills, social media expertise, multitasking ability, a keen news sense (journalism a plus), and proficiency in videography and editing.
Data analytics would be an advantage.
Own car and valid driver's license.
Willingness to travel nationally for the purpose of content creation, training and meeting attendance.
Excellent communication, editing and writing skills.
Project management skills.
Must be passionate about community engagement and driven to make a meaningful difference through impactful work.
Appointment will be made in line with the organisation's Employment Equity Plan, preference will be given to Coloured and African Males, however, we encourage all persons from designated groups to apply.
The proposed salary for the role is R30k - R35k per month, but the option remains with the client to offer any market related salary considering the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
