Job summary

Mediclinic Paarl is seeking a Senior Professional Nurse to oversee a 14-bed surgical unit, ensuring safe patient care and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a Professional Nurse qualification with a Postgraduate Diploma for specialist units, at least 3 years in hospital nursing and 1 year mentoring, plus 2 years leadership. Strong clinical and infection-control knowledge is essential; ACLS/ATLS/PALS training is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years Professional Nurse experience in a hospital 1 year mentor experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards
• Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Senior Professional Nurse in this role will oversee a 14 bed surgical unit. The incumbunt will function as a Line Manager to the team in ensuring a safe and positive client experience by mitigating clinical risks and co-ordinating care delivery. They further manage human and other resources to ensure that staff are engaged and processes are optimised.
