HR Business Partner (Practitioner) Job Description

The Recruitment Guy is seeking to employ a Senior Human Resources Business Partner / Practitioner with mining or construction sector experience, based in Kyalami (Midrand). This is a permanent, mid-management position reporting to the Site Manager and National Group HR Manager.

Application Criteria

Applicants must have experience in the mining or construction industry and meet the duties outlined below. Applications not meeting these criteria or received without response within 2 weeks will be considered unsuccessful.

Responsibilities
  1. Support & Policy Implementation: Provide generalist HR support aligned with strategic goals, support management on labour issues, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  2. Labour Relations: Facilitate labour relations, participate in negotiations, and maintain communication with statutory bodies and employee representatives.
  3. Employee Relations & Advisory: Advise on labour issues, interpret management proposals, and act as a liaison between employees and management.
  4. Training & Development: Facilitate training on labour legislation, draft job descriptions, manage recruitment processes, and coordinate onboarding and induction.
  5. Termination & Payroll: Manage exit procedures, ensure statutory payments, and process payroll and related employee queries.
  6. Employee Relations & Administration: Investigate misconduct, manage disciplinary hearings, maintain employee documentation, and ensure compliance with employment contracts.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification at NQF Level 5 or above in Human Resources
  • Grade 12 secondary qualification
  • APSO accredited qualification or similar
  • 3+ years' experience with trade unions and negotiations
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar-sized organization
  • Proficiency in MS Office, payroll procedures, and labour legislation
  • Valid driver's license and own transport
  • Local residency in Midrand or nearby
