Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a Senior Engineering Assistant for Lines and Servitudes to supervise, coordinate and perform maintenance across transmission lines. You will lead fault investigations, inspections and emergency restoration tasks while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires a Trade Certificate Electrical (NQF 4) with 120 credits and about 5 years in transmission networks, lines and HV plant. The position is based in Northern Grid with a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate Electrical at NQF 4 with 120 Credits is required.
• 5 Transmission network and discipline related equipment (Lines and HV Plant) experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, co-ordinate and perform servitude and line maintenance on transmission lines using approved tools, equipment, procedures and techniques to ensure optimal line performance.
• Fault investigation and power line inspection; supervise and carry out hardware defect repairs, servitude maintenance and operating.
• Supervise and carry out power line emergency restoration tasks and ensure compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental Policies.
• Mentoring and coaching of junior staff.
