Job summary

Pillangó Placements is seeking a Senior Accountant or Financial Manager level candidate in Gauteng to take ownership of the full financial function, including stock and distribution accounting. The role requires strong management accounting skills and hands-on accounting experience in an importing/distribution environment.

Fluency in Afrikaans and English is essential, with excellent Excel and ERP system skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor stock movements, costing, margins and inventory values.
• Oversee financial aspects relating to imported goods.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiencies.
• Support the business through changes in systems, reporting and group requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage audit requirements.
• Work with Group Financial Manager on reporting, controls and financial matters.
• Provide useful financial information to management to support decision-making.

Job description

This role suits a Senior Accountant ready for broader responsibility, or a Junior Financial Manager who enjoys being close to the detail. Strong management accounting, stock and inventory experience will be particularly important.

Duties / Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the full financial function.

Education

• Qualified Professional Accountant with SAIPA, AGA or CIMA credentials.
