Job description
Role Summary

The Site Supervisor role is responsible for managing all on-site tyre operations, ensuring smooth workflow, safety compliance, accurate reporting, and strong team performance. The position requires oversight of personnel, inventory, and operational systems to ensure service standards are consistently met.

Success in this role involves:

  • Achieving operational targets, compliance standards, and service quality metrics.
  • Maintaining accurate tyre records, stock control, and breakdown management.
  • Ensuring strong working relationships with both staff and client representatives.
  • Driving operational excellence in safety, housekeeping, and productivity.

This role supports the broader organization by acting as the key link between on-site operations, the client, and management, ensuring service quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility include:

Administration & Operations

  • Manage on-site personnel and ensure duties are completed according to agreed service levels.
  • Audit compliance using operational systems and tools.
  • Conduct training on procedures, tyre management, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare reports, address queries promptly, and attend operational meetings.

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Maintain clean and safe work environments.
  • Enforce use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and conduct toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all work practices meet safety standards.

Tools & Equipment

  • Oversee storage, maintenance, and inspections of tools and mobile equipment.
  • Record tool checks and ensure timely servicing.

Company Vehicle Care

  • Ensure company vehicles are used responsibly, cleaned regularly, and serviced on schedule.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Perform daily stock reconciliations and maintain accurate records of tyre movements.
  • Manage branding, storage, and scrap procedures according to set requirements.
  • Ensure all tyres have visible identification numbers and proper documentation.

Breakdown Management

  • Record and track all breakdown incidents.
  • Ensure proper follow-up on removed casings and accurate reporting.

Repairs & Warranties

  • Record tyres sent for repair or retreading, maintain required documentation, and track returns.

General Duties

  • Monitor productivity, timekeeping, and operational targets.
  • Conduct spot checks and maintain performance standards across all areas.
Qualifications

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • High computer literacy, including MS Office and online systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 education.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Site Supervisor or Manager.
  • 3+ years of experience in the tyre or similar industry.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and operational processes.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Afrikaans preferred).

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transport.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility for travel and irregular working hours, including weekends.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Preference for employment equity candidates.
